GENDER ISSUES

Since God created Adam and Eve, there have been only two genders: Male and female. Our Lord Jesus was very clear about this when He said, "God made them male and female" (Mark 10:6). When sin entered the world because of Adam's sin (Romans 5:12), the two genders God created became distorted by sin. Romans 1:18, 24-27 says, "But God shows his anger from Heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness...So God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other's bodies. They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen. That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved."

When God created the two gender (male and female), God never intended for people to change their sexual preference. However, because of sexual desires that are affected by sin, people started to have relations with the same gender. In God's standard of His righteousness, no matter how He loves people, He cannot accept same-sex relationships. In our today's society, gender is taught that it is no longer important. People can be whatever they want. As a result, we have transgenders who are using medical advances to change their biological gender. We have people who consider themselves nonbinary, meaning they have no gender specifics. We have homosexuals who are sexually attracted to the same gender. Many churches accept and support homosexuality and even become ministers themselves.

No matter how our society deals with homosexuality, transgender, or nonbinary, one thing remains in the Word of God: God only created two genders: Male and female. As believers, how should we respond to this issue? We need to do what God does. He loves people, but He never accepts their sinful lifestyle. God loves every single person in this world no matter what sexual preference they have, but He wants to save every single person from sin and live in His righteousness. Let us always remember that God loves us, but He will never compromise His righteousness, for He is a holy God. I know that gender issues are very controversial in today's society, but we need to stand for what the Bible says, not how we feel about the issues. Because in the end, God said, "Heaven and earth will pass away, but my Words will not pass away" Matthew 24:35).

Ask yourself these questions: What are the two genders that God created? What does the Word of God say about same-sex relationships? How does God want us to treat homosexuals, transgenders, and nonbinary people?

Write down all the worries you are facing today and lift them up to God.

Prayer:

Father in Heaven, would you please help me to live and stand for your truth, especially on gender issues? You said in your Word that you love everyone in this world, but you do not condone a sinful lifestyle. Please help me love homosexuals, transgenders, and nonbinary people to your kingdom so they may know who you are and be saved and changed in your righteousness. In your name Jesus, I pray. Amen.
