GOD HOLDS THE FUTURE

Even though the future is a mystery to us, we want to know what is in front of us. We want to know our future may be for our comfort, our security, our advantages, especially for financial gain, etc. People spend a lot of money on fortune tellers to predict their future. For example, many business people go to fortune tellers every year to know what the market will look for the following year so that they can be prepared for it. However, only God can know the future. He sees our future. God knows each one of us even before the creation of time. Before we were born, God already knows our name. Also, God knows who we will become in the future.

There was a severe famine about to occur in Egypt when Joseph was in Egypt. One night, God gave Pharaoh a dream to warn him about the severe famine, but he couldn't interpret it. God used Joseph to interpret the dream, and he told Pharaoh that for seven years, the land would have an abundant harvest, but it would be followed with seven years of severe drought. Knowing the future, Joseph advised Pharaoh to save up for the first seven years so that they would have plenty of food for the seven years of famine. Egypt was able to survive because God revealed to them the future.

Since God knows our future, we need to trust our lives to God. Jesus said that we should not worry about what we should eat, drink, or wear, for our Heavenly Father would take care of us. Our Heavenly Father will always be faithful to guide us through our future as we listen and surrender our lives to Him. Joseph was able to know the future because he was walking with God. We do not need fortune-tellers, horoscopes, or Zodiac signs to tell us what our future might look like because we have a loving Father who sees our future. All we have to do is walk daily with Him through our daily devotion and let God speak to our hearts. As we know God in a personal way, God then will be able to guide us through our future.

Ask yourself these questions: Who holds my future? Why should I not worry about the future? What should I do for God to guide me through the future?

Write down all the worries that you are facing today and lift them up to God.

Prayer:

Father in Heaven, thank you that my future is in your hands. No matter what happens in the future, I believe that I will be safe in your presence. Please help me to trust and walk with you daily so that I may know your ways. Please help me now with (mention your prayer requests). In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
