Understanding the will of God gives us peace and stability in our lives. Because no matter what is going on in our lives, if we know His will, we know that He is in control over our situations. We may not completely understand what He is doing, but we know that we are in His hands, and everything will work together for good. God's will in our lives is far better than what we can imagine. God can see our future, and we cannot. His plan in our lives is beyond our understanding, so we need to let Him guide us and let Him control our lives because He knows our future.
There is always a tendency that we want to be in control of our lives because we think that we know better. But in reality, we do not have control over our existence in this world. Psalm 103:15 says, "Our days on earth are like grass; like wildflowers, we bloom and die." Look at the people who have died of COVID-19. Many of them had plans for tomorrow, but their lives were cut short because of the pandemic. No one knows when the hour of our last breath in this world is except our God.
So how do we know the will of God in our lives? The only way we can know God's will in our lives is to continue to pursue in getting to know Him. Every day we need to seek Him through our prayers and His Word. God has given us an incredible privilege to be His children. As His children, He loves to hear from us, and He wants us to know His will so that we can walk in His ways. Here are some practical steps that you can do throughout the week to know God's will: the moment you wake up in the morning, you can say a prayer to God to thank Him for the day and ask for guidance. Read the daily devotion so that you can be encouraged by His Word, and in the evening before you go to bed, say a prayer again and thank Him for the day and pray to God to help you understand His will in your life and your current situation.
Ask yourself these questions: Does God know my future? If so, what should be my response? Why is it so important for me to know God's will in my life? What are the things that I can do to know God's will?
Write down all the worries that you are facing today and lift them up to God.
Prayer:
Father in heaven, thank you that my life is in your hand. Thank you that you know my future and my current situation. Please help me understand your will and help me to continue to spend time with you in prayer and your Word daily. Please help me now with (mention your prayer requests). In the name of Jesus, I pray.
