There was another time when Jesus fed a great multitude. This time, there were about four thousand people. They had been with Jesus for three days and were in a desolate place. Jesus was concerned with the people that if they left without eating, they might faint on the way. So He asked His disciples how many loaves do they had? The disciples told Him that they had seven loaves and a few fish. Jesus then ordered the people to sit down on the ground, and He took the loaves of bread and the few fish and blessed them. After blessing the food, He started distributing them. Like what happened when he fed the five thousand people previously, He miraculously multiplied the loaves and the few fish and fed all the people. In the end, they had seven large baskets full of leftovers. After eating, he sent them away. (Mark 8:1-10).
One of the lessons we learned from this event is that Jesus knew the condition of the people. He knew that if people did not eat before going away, they might not make it without fainting because they were hungry. Jesus met their needs miraculously. In the same way, God knows our needs, and He cares about us. No matter what our needs are, God can meet them miraculously. The gas prices are pretty high right now, and because of that, it is affecting the cost of living. Regardless of what will happen tomorrow, God is faithful to meet our daily needs according to His purpose and plan in our lives.
Let us not be fearful or anxious about tomorrow. Our God is bigger than our needs. We need to continue to trust and follow God in our lives, and everything will be alright. He will take care of all our needs according to His timing and plan in our lives. So if we start becoming anxious because of our needs, remember how Jesus fed the five thousand and four thousand people.
Ask yourself these questions: Do I believe that God knows my needs? Do I believe that God can provide for all of my needs? What should I do when I start becoming anxious about my needs?
Write down all the worries you face today and lift them up to God.
Prayer:
Father in Heaven, I believe you can provide everything I need according to your riches and power in Heaven. You are bigger than my needs, and you care about me. Please help me trust you with all my heart, especially when I become anxious about my needs. I pray for (mention your needs). Thank you, Father, for hearing my prayer. In the name of your Son, Jesus, I pray. Amen.
