Our God is immutable, meaning He never changes. He never gets old; He is the same as when He created the world in the beginning. Our God is faithful to reveal Himself as God to every generation, whether in the past, present, or future generation. Psalm 102:18-22 says, "Let this be recorded for future generations, so that a people not yet born will praise the Lord. Tell them the Lord looked down from his heavenly sanctuary. He looked down to earth from heaven to hear the groans of the prisoners, to release those condemned to die. And so the Lord's fame will be celebrated in Zion, his praises in Jerusalem, when multitudes gather together and kingdoms come to worship the Lord." It is incredible that God already knows those who will be in the future generation, and He desires for them to know Him as the God who cares. God delivers those who are condemned to die. We were once condemned to die because of our sins. However, our God sent His Son, our Lord Jesus, to die on the cross for our sins to deliver us from spiritual death. Romans 5:8 says, "But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
It is comforting to know that God looks down from His heavenly sanctuary or throne and sees our suffering. No matter what we are going through today, God sees our situations. He sees the tears and pain that we keep inside our hearts. God knows our doubts and fears. He understands the inner struggles that no one else is aware of. God knows our hidden sins and our secret motives. It is all for the above reasons that God came into our lives. He wants us to trust in Him so that we can experience His deliverance. As the Lord helps and delivers us from our problems, it becomes a testimony for future generations. There are so many times God used my testimony to help someone to trust in our Lord Jesus. Let us remember that all our problems have an end, but our God has no end and remains the same. Our testimony is God's story for others to hear so that people will praise and worship Him.
Our God doesn't change like us. We age, and our situations change, but our God remains the same. He is forever our Savior, Lord, and God, who loves and cares about us.
Questions for application: (Think through these questions carefully, meditate on them while answering them, and let the Spirit of God speak to you.) How should I deal with my problem knowing that God cares about me? Do I trust God in my problems? How should I live knowing that God never changes and cares about me?
Take a moment to write down all your worries today. Then, lift them to God in prayer, surrendering them to His will and trusting in His guidance.
Prayer:
Dear Father in Heaven, Thank you for reminding me today that you see all I am going through and that you care about me. Please help me to trust in you, even when I do not understand where my problem is leading me. You are my Savior, Lord, and God. I will rest in you. In your name, Jesus, I pray. Amen.
