The moment we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, we become God's children. The God who created the heavens and the earth, the all-powerful God, the all-knowing God, the ever-present God, the eternal God, the holy God became our Father. His love for us is stronger than any force in this world. The apostle Paul said this in Romans 8:38, "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." God demonstrated His great love for us that while we were yet sinners, He sacrificed His only Son to die on the cross to save us.
Our relationship with our heavenly Father is not based on our performance. We do not need to prove to Him that we are lovable or acceptable. Our heavenly Father approved and accepted us through our faith in our Lord Jesus. He does not abandon us when we fail or sin. His love for us remains the same. He disciplines us when we sin because He wants to correct us and lead us back to the right path. I remember when I got spanked when I was a little kid because I disobeyed my father. It was painful to be spanked, but I learned the consequences of my disobedience. If my father did not discipline me when I was a kid, I would not learn to obey any rules.
Our heavenly Father is always approachable and available. We can always pray to Him whenever we need Him. He never gets too busy that He does not have time for each one of us. In actuality, He wants to spend time with us all the time. So no matter what we are going through today, we need to remind ourselves that we have a heavenly Father that loves us dearly.
Ask yourself these questions: How do I feel right now, knowing that I have a heavenly Father that loves me? Do I truly believe in my heart that my heavenly Father loves me?
Write down all the worries that you are facing today and lift them up to God.
Prayer:
