WE ARE SAFE IN GOD'S SOVEREIGN HANDS

Psalm 94:12-15 says, "Joyful are those you discipline, Lord, those you teach with your instructions. You give them relief from troubled times until a pit is dug to capture the wicked. The Lord will not reject his people; he will not abandon his special possession. Judgment will again be founded on justice, and those with virtuous hearts will pursue it." God's children are always safe in Him because He will never abandon and reject them. Our God is always there to teach us His ways through His Word, and when we disobey Him, he is quick to discipline us so that He can restore us immediately. Our God does not want us to end up like the wicked people for destruction. When we are in trouble, our God is always there to help us because we are His special possession. There is not a moment that He is not thinking of us individually. He knows what we are going through because there is nothing hidden from Him. He sees our struggles and weaknesses. He knows when we stumble and fall, but He is always there to forgive and restore us when we humbly come before Him and ask for forgiveness.

When wicked people are in trouble, they find no help. They lack the hope we possess, and this is the biggest difference between wicked people and us. We will always have hope because we are secure in our relationship with God. We have joy in our hearts even in the midst of hardship because we have God who gives us relief from our troubled times. This December, I will finally graduate from my PhD program in Organizational Leadership, and it has been more challenging than anything I have ever done academically. There were times when I thought that I would never finish it. But as the Lord walks me through the process and gives me the wisdom and resources I need to continue, I am finally graduating this December. All of us have been in a situation where we felt like there was no way out for us, but God always shows up, giving us the encouragement and assurance that we will make it through because He is going to carry us when our strength is gone, and our faith is fading away.

Let us be reminded this morning that we are not holding to God to maintain our relationship with Him, but He is holding us with His sovereign hand, carrying us through this life. God's love for us is stronger than our love for Him, and this is the reason we are always secure in Him.

Questions for application: (Think through these questions carefully, meditate on them while answering them, and let the Spirit of God speak to you.) Do I believe in my heart that God will never reject or abandon me? Why do I have an everlasting hope? What is God showing me in today's devotion?

Take a moment to write down all your worries today. Then, lift them up to God in prayer, surrendering them to His will and trusting in His guidance.

Prayer:

Dear Father in Heaven, Thank you for your love and faithfulness. Thank you for reminding me this morning that you are holding me with your sovereign hand to make me secure in you. Thank you for disciplining me when I am in disobedience and leading me back to your ways. Please help me to fix my eyes on you today and overcome any temptations that I face today. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
