WHAT IS A FUTURE OF A CHRISTIAN?

There is a good question that everybody needs to ask himself/herself: what would happen to me if I die today? Many will answer this as hoping that God will accept them to Heaven. Others may feel that they do not have a good chance of God accepting them. Others do not know what will happen to them, and some believe that their soul will just dissipate into thin air. However, as Christians, we have an assured foundation that God will accept us into His kingdom the moment we die. Our Christian belief is based on the Word of God. If the Word of God is of God, then we can rest assured that everything that it says is true. God promised us that all those who genuinely believe in Him would not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life."

Christianity is about walking in faith in God and not based on our good performance. Ephesians 2:8-9 says, "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by (good) works, so that no one can boast." Our good works are the result of our relationship with God. We do good because we love God and not to prove to God that we are worth being saved. Our salvation begins in our faith in Jesus, and as the Lord changes our hearts, we start to do good and change our behaviors. We cannot be forgiven of our sin by doing good or performing religious rituals. We can only be forgiven by believing in Jesus, asking Him to forgive us, and turn away from our sins.

So let us walk in confidence as Christians because we have hope that God already accepted us into His Kingdom—Heaven. Our future is in Heaven and not on this earth. No matter how much we want to live on this earth, our bodies can't exist forever on this earth. All of us will die, but our souls will be in Heaven forever and for eternity. Our final destination is to be with our Heavenly Father, and nothing can stop Him from taking us to be with Him. We are His forever, no matter what happens in this world. He will carry us through this life and will never give up on us.

Ask yourself these questions: As a Christian, where is my future destiny? Why is it possible for God to accept me into His kingdom? What must I do to become a Christian and receive eternal life?

Write down all the worries that you are facing today and lift them up to God.

Prayer:

Father in Heaven, thank you that I am secured in You because of faith in my Lord Jesus and not on my good works. Thank you that you will never let me go as your child. Your loving arms and loving heart will always keep me even when I feel that you are not near me. Regardless of how I think, you are always with me because you love me as your own. In your name Jesus, I pray. Amen.
